What we do

Fairtrade provides workers with a fair price for their products and decent working conditions. This is one of the most effective ways of fighting poverty in the developing world.

Since the Fairtrade group came into being just before Fairtrade Fortnight 2001, we have been active in many different ways:

  • We raise awareness in churches, schools and a variety of other groups and bodies, responding to numerous requests, giving talks and providing stalls
  • We organise events and activities during Fairtrade Fortnight each year, including hosting a number of Fairtrade farmers over the years.
  • We set up and maintain a website
  • We played a prominent part in the Preston Guild celebrations in 2012
  • We seek to continuously update information as to what Fairtrade products are available in this area and where - this is an ongoing process
  • We keep up the profile of Fairtrade within the public consciousness

We are always in need of more volunteers to get involved in Fairtrade. Please do contact us is you would like to help in any way.
